In a brightly lit, overused conference room five women meet weekly for their domestic violence support group with their novice facilitator, KC, who really wants to help. With her empty resume and dearth of personal experience, it’s only a matter of time before someone in the group asks “is this really all we deserve?” and flips the healing journey on its head...
Workshopped at Ojai Playwrights Conference and Playwrights Realm, Support follows the eight week journey of a group of survivors who begin to ask what surviving- healing, moving forward, building new relationships-really looks like in a society without decent scaffolding for their support? When a male actor is brought in, some start to question what, why and how they make the future different and if there really is a way to make ripples beyond the unseemly conference room walls...
