AURA CARLSON

Social Media Intern

Aura Carlson, a rising junior at Laguna Blanca School, began working with theater in 7th grade when she asked Kate Bergstrom, Laguna Blanca’s former drama teacher and current On the Verge Company director, if she could do stage crew for the musical Little Shop of Horrors. After Little Shop, she continued to be part of theater by either stage crewing or playing a minor role in Laguna’s productions. The shows she stage crewed/assistant stage managed for were: Little Shop of Horrors, Steel Magnolias, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She played a minor role in the performances: The Crucible, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Young Frankenstein. For this past school year’s productions, she was Properties Manager for the fall play Harvey and an Assistant Stage Manager for the spring musical Seussical. Outside of school, this spring, Aura took part in the Jurkowitz Fellows program created by David Holmes, another On the Verge company member. Last summer at On the Verge, Aura was Co-Assistant Stage Manager for the play Footprints at Laetoli as well as a House Manager for Weekend One of the On the Verge festival featuring the plays Caylee’s First Big Show and Sweet Child. She enjoys both acting and being part of crew, but she has recently been focused on stage management. This summer, due to previous engagements, Aura will be a Stage Management Intern for all productions rather than focusing on one or two shows. She will also be one of the photographers for OTV's events.
